Last night, the 2016 Billboard Music Awards took place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada where a rotation of top performers took the red carpet and the stage, to perform and collect awards.
Of course we at SPICE were watching and have compiled the most note-worthy outfits from the night – see them below and tell us who wore yours.
Rihanna was our total favourite from the entire night, with her deep brown, twist-fasten dress bringing all the right feels to the red carpet. Here embellished slip-ons and puff sleeves brought retro elegance, and reminded everyone that she’s not just a singer with a chameleon sense of style, but she’s a businesswoman with brains as well as a brilliant wardrobe.
Laverne always brings the drama with her ensemble, hitting the red carpet last night with a gown ready for the Oscars. Just look at that neck extension! Laverne knows how to work, and work she did with that plunge and that train in tow.
Though Kesha was rumoured not to perform at the 2016 Billboard Awards, amid the drama between herself and her label (Kesha’s recently been embroiled in a court battle with her label Sony, after claiming she was drugged, emotionally abused and sexually assaulted by her former producer, Dr. Luke), she appeared anyway and with a standout look.
The star wore this purple two-piece and looked every part the matador, and like she is clearly enjoying a complete style overhaul of late. We have to say we like this change of pace for Kesha and she definitely pulled this off.
Another red carpet, another opportunity for Ciara to show off some skin.
We mean, if you’ve got it, why not flaunt it. But then we do also like having a little left to the imagination, and this body-skimmingdress is just like the one she wore for the 2016 Grammys red carpet, and equally as revealing as that she wore to the Met Gala, too. Time to put it away and try something new?
Wiz is a man that can mix high and low and turn up sleek with out selling out on his usual style. Tight fit tailoring works for him and we love the colour-blocked look he took to the Billboards, finished with a set of Converse, of course.
This rare sighting of British singer Seal was enough for us, but the fact he turned up in reflective shades, an open shirt and blazer? Well, swoon we did.
We particularly like the longline fit of the blazer-jacket – definitely the trophy piece here.
Actress Serayah, we weren’t sure about, though we understand the direction of the look. We like the throwback ’90s vibe, but perhaps the leather pants could’ve been tailored better? Or maybe the top was a touch too short?
We don’t know, maybe Team SPICE are just being too picky – but abs are super impressive!
Team SPICE did like Zendaya’s midriff-baring look though, with the star stepping out in a feminine ensemble of a peachy hue – quite rare really, as the singer usually goes for fierce.
The top was teeny and the skirt pleated, and her face painted pretty with barely any makeup. We loved it.
Singer Kelly Rowland attended the event too, wearing a glittering dress with plenty of sheer situations. We like the glamorous tone of her look, which got serious with swept-back hair and diamond jewels.
Lastly, young actress, singer and media personality Keke Palmer took to the red carpet, rocking a sheened latex look and upping her sex appeal.
Forever reinventing herself with her style, Ms Palmer pulled this look off with heels, a high bun and big fringe. We like the impact she brought to the Billboards.WATCH: THIS GUEST TURN INTO KEKE PALMER ON MAKE ME A STAR!
