The 2016 Cannes Film Festival is underway, with stars hitting the red carpet and press junkets in their finest ensembles.
But, since it’s Friday and we’re looking forward to making own entrances on nights on the town this weekend, we’re considering these celebrity beauty looks – the best from Cannes, so far.
Model Bella always brings her a-game, and despite being a relative newbie on the scene, we are aways looking forward to what she and her sister Gigi do on the red carpet.
Beauty wise at the Cannes opening gala, Bella brought that ‘baked’ look out to play, putting her skin under the spotlight with a glowing layer of bronzer, subtle smoky eye and slicked-back hair.
Tip: Rock a slikced-back hair ‘do, even a ponytail, with a little wet-look gel to emphasise your bronzed skin and bring a touch of ‘size;e’ and Summer to your look.
Veteran actress Julianne Moore was stunning with her look at the Money Monster premiere, wearing a candy-pink coloured lipstick with rosy cheeks for a soft, girly result.
Her side-parted hair further softened the face and amplified the feminine feels of her beauty look.
Tip: Match your lips to your earrings this Summer for a fun but polished take.
Queen of class, former Spie Girl-turned designer Victoria Beckham took to the opening gala with elegance, bringing her signature sort of beauty along with her.
The look was subtle, smoky eyeshadow that elongated the eyes, and a nude lip to compliment. We also love the messy up ‘do, that made the whole ensemble look luxe.
Tip: Back-comb or add texture to your up ‘do like Ms Beckham, with a little volume bringing the right amount of drama, plus bridging cool and classy vibes.
Although she made our ‘worst list’ last week, for her look at the 2016 Met Gala, actress Kristen Stewart redeemed herself the other day while at the Cannes opening gala.
Going the complete opposite way from the cold, metallic look she wore to the Met, KStew warmed her beauty up with a glowing complexion and bold red lip. We also like how she’s paired the bright hue with an earthy, brown-smoked eye, with her peepers heavily-lined to perfection. It’s the right amount of ‘done up’ to contrast with her outgrown blonde hair.
Tip: Match a bold red lip with smoky eyes in brown, purple or blue this season – the ’70s-inspired look trending for Spring/Summer’16.
Also at the opening ceremony was Susan Sarandon, who brought rock’n’roll feels to the red carpet.
Keeping classy with a red lip (and her sharp, monochrome suit), the actress stepped out with textured, tousled hair and a big pair of shades, proving that a red lip, really is all you need.
Tip: Line lips to keep bold reds in check for hours after application, and pair with your choice of eye look. Or, if you’re trying to look polished after a heavy night on the town, simply go with the red lips to distract from tired eyes – just add shades like Ms Sarandon if that doesn’t cut it.
