While the runways at Lagos Fashion & Design Week gave us plenty to ponder when it comes to Spring/Summer’16 fashion, the streetstyle at the event gave us inspiration for now; ways to think about our wardrobe before the year ends.
And, with the four-day force that is LFDW having brought the best in the industry to its Frow, including top bloggers and press from overseas, plus stylists, designers, models and more on ground, you’ll bet there’s a look or two that’ll leave you lusting to get dressed.
Take a look at our streetstyle round up here and let us know which look is your favourite.
Day 1
Team SPICE’s Dami turning us green with envy over her smock dress and trainer combination
Also in green, Fifunmi looks great and is seen rocking a fluffy ‘fro
We love this look made up of red accents – the scarf being a chic detail to try at home
This guy’s also loving the scarf-ed look, tying his to bag for style points
We’re loving this gent’s long beige coat, which exudes a grown up sort of style atop basic black
Designer Ugo of Fourteen07style is serving up one of his signature poses in his own design, completed by a matching bag and sneaker combination
Also into bright sneaks, Tosin Ogundagbe bounces his plain ensemble and smart bag of a pair of bold blue dunks
Mimi Onalaja, we’re loving this sheer and textured look and the big hoops it’s paired with
Sometimes it’s the details that bring a look together, like with these sweet pair of petalled sunnies
Model Melissa Devidal is seen chatting and looking fly in a skin-tight catsuit, studded heels and reflective shades – her pal rocking a beautiful mane of hair and a cool denim look
And we love this guy’s style, which packs a punch via contrasting prints
The big bag brings a side of eccentric to his outfit that can’t be ignored
This gent has simplicity nailed with his ensemble. The tunic is to die for, with its cut-out detail and we love the way it’s paired with this light tan hat and matching slides
Somkele Idhalama was seen going a little more glam, the beauty spied rushing to the event in a lovely black mesh look
Also going for drama with black sheers, this young stylite fused cobalt blue to her look for standout vibes. And we didn’t overlook that Chanel brooch either…
Singer Tonye Garrick gave us sporty style as she headed to Day 1 of LFDW, showing off her legs with splitted skirt
And dressed to make headlines, this guy took to LFDW with a printed three piece suit accessorised with reflective shades.
Online entrepreneur Ono Bello didn’t disappoint with her printed pants, either – and we love how she’s acessorised this look
SPICE’s own Sharon Ojong also looked fly at Day 1 of LFDW, rocking animal print and blue lips
How cute are Deola and Winston’s matching bantu knots? We also spot utility vibes in both looks…
And also making a case for the long jacket, designer Sisiano Paolo came out swinging his just an inch from the floor. Great, clean ensemble.
Day 2
TV personality Zainab Balogun showed up looking fierce in fringing for Day 2 of LFDW
…And blogger Fisayo Longe rocked another peplum look we couldn’t help but love
The hue of this dress and the uber-strappy shoes were instant hits with us
…As was the lace detail here in this simple outfit
This crew of Ghanian style icons came coordinated and repping their favourite designer, Hazza…
Meanwhile, this fashion-lover went for low-key vibes in an open shirts and distressed jeans
Designer Adebayo Oke-Lawal of Orange Culture channeled a similar, causal look
Temi Dollface however brought her parrot back to the Frow, with a brilliant and bright ensemble
This guy also added something eccentric, working a cool, printed kimono with long braids
More boho feelings we seen around LFDW’s second day
And SPICE’s Sharon Ojong was a boho babe in her wide-brimmed hat and printed shirt
…While some turned up ladylike and elegant in pretty dresses
Day 3
We caught Sisiano’s designer looking well-styled pre-show on Day 3
Somkele Idhalama upped the ante with her style as the Fashion Week went into full swing
More fabulous fringing was seen swinging around the venue
And red may well have been the colour of the day, with many seen styling in it like Cassie Davies
…Even Yagazine Emezie worked the hue – her look by Orange Culture
Fashion Blogger Temi Odetola came looking extravagant in prints and leather…
Loving how this outfit came together on blogger Udauku Ufure, and the way the skirt did all the talking…
…This gent looked fly, rocking a mis-matched suit
Others came casual and completely laid back like Chris Kata…
…And like Tzar designer Ian Audifferen, who rocked his new denim sliders to the event
This pair of fashion friends also stepped out looking good together, Zara Okpara bringing her A game with her fluffy flats
Day 4
On the last day, attendees’ wardrobes were fully warmed up and we saw it all…
From extravagant textures, like this great, green pencil skirt…
…And these fully-fringed trousers on Ronke, who wore IamIsigo
…To wax print being worked to full fashionable effect on Folu Storms
We love the way this look was accessorised with vintage-looking shades and pop bright shoes and bag
…The guys also worked twists on tradwear…
…Some doing the smart and sleek look in suitwear
…Others going for a slightly more comfortable look in short shorts…
…While the ladies came to slay – like this well-dressed individual, in her striped cape jacket
This striped look was also on our list of street style hits – the knotted scarf screaming style with ease
We spied Dimeji Alara pre-show looking casual
…As well as this spectator, doing the double denim look
SPICE TV producer Sharon Ojong and Taje Prest turned up to turn heads in their outfits…
…While this duo worked a subtle palette to the shows
Love the bold colour in this ensemble
..And there were plenty of prints on show, too as seen on blogger Temi Odetola
…And this pair of sheer dungarees that we just had to snap
