Two of fashion’s most famous faces, Vogue’s Anna Wintour and Sex and the City‘s Sarah Jessica Parker, sat down for Late Night with Seth Myers to dish on the most stylish night of May – the 2014 MET Gala.
As well as talking about the job of welcoming guests in to the exhibition ‘graciously,’ the pair discussed the notoriously strict dress code that is sent out with each invite – this year’s having been “White tie” and designed to reflect the theme of the night, which celebrated couturier Charles James.
The dynamically dressed duo revealed that some male guests were very confused by the term ‘decorations’, thinking it referred to Christmas tree ornaments, which thankfully, did not make an appearance on the MET’s red carpet.
But, unfortunately for Kanye West, Jake Gyllenhaal and Hugh Jackman, what did make it to the event was a little disappointing for the MET Gala’s Chair, Ms Wintour, who criticised the guys’ attempts at dressing appropriately, describing Hugh Jackman’s look as “white tropical dinner jacket,” Jake Gyllenhaal’s as “Brooklyn white tie” but approving Bradley Cooper’s efforts, saying it was “99.55%” correct.
