Megastar singer Beyonce Knowles is no stranger to the fashion industry, with the beauty having founded (and since folded) label House of Dereon, back in 2006 – but it’s just been revealed that Bey is to launch a collection with Topshop, marking a huge step into the industry via its popular highstreet platform.
The activewear label Beyonce is working on is a 50-50 partnership with Topshop, which will include “clothing, footwear and accessories across dance, fitness and sports categories,” and is registered as Parkwood Topshop Athletic Ltd – a new development in Beyonce’s Parkwood Entertainment business, set up in 2008.
The music marvel, mother to Blue Ivy and wife of Jay Z revealed of the venture;
“I could not think of a better partner as I continue to grow the Parkwood business. I have always loved Topshop for its fashion credentials and forward thinking [and] working with its development team to create and produce a technical and fashion-led collection is exciting…
I’m looking forward to participating in all aspects of this partnership.”
While it is confirmed that a creative director and team will design and run the upcoming label, there’s no word yet on how much involvement Bey will have over the design of the items, or when the first of the brand will surface. Though, taking her phenomenal stage outfits and off-duty dress sense into consideration, we at SPICE think Beyonce’s new partnership with Topshop will be a complete and utterly stylish success. Our fingers are also crossed that Bey’s little sister, Solange might have some involvement, too…
