Brilliant Nigerian talent, Bubu Ogisi has just launched a concept store in Victoria Island, Lagos, with an event that saw top stars and Nigerian fashion’s finest in attendance.
Announcing that her amazing brand, IAMISIGO would be expanding to include homeware and furniture too, the label’s white-out nook in VI included a dining set (table and chairs) made from tyres – the type of furnishings cool kids like Ms Ogisi would certainly set about their home, the talent saying;
“The brand is diversifying into interior decor which explains the current concept of the store which is centered around the ‘movement of fashion’ which explains the bicycle wheel racks and the dining set made out of 19 motor tyres.”
Celebrities including Rita Dominic, Toke Makinwa and Eku Edewor came out to peruse the IAMISIGO store, where rails hung from the ceiling, covered with the designer’s Spring/Summer’15 range and offered a preview of the brand’s new Autumn/Winter’15 collection, “East of West” – Ms Dominic wearing a piece from the lineup (see the lookbook, here) and twinning in fringe with the designer.
And of course Bubu’s fashion tribe showed face at her event – which included drinks and sweet desserts – with fellow designers Adebayo Oke Lawal of Orange Culture, Orere Omatsola of Rebahia and Tzar’s Ian Audifferen pictured at the event.
