Fresh from his appearance on the Met Gala’s red carpet, rapper Kanye West has been busy publicly praising his wife Kim’s body – this time, crediting her curves with sparking revolution within the fashion industry.
Speaking in an interview with Steve Harvey, West said;
“She is breaking boundaries on so many levels. In fashion . . . designers [weren’t] trying to make clothes for women with shapes. And now they’re all about really embracing and empowering women.”
The lead Kardashian’s body has broken the Internet and been the subject of many headlines, debates and discussion in recent years, with her curvaceous form being famous in its own right.
Kim has also long been the muse of top designer, Olivier Rousteing who has notably shifted Balmain’s aesthetic to include bodies of all shapes and sizes. Kanye’s own collections are also showcased on various body types, and labels like Hood by Air and Chromat are also inclusive of different model types.
But what are your thoughts? Do you think Kim is responsible for any major change in fashion? Or were there designers already focused on various forms before Kim came around?
Tell us online @SPICETVAFRICA whether you think Kanye West is right, that Kim Kardashian’s curves have broken boundaries in the fashion industry, or whether you disagree with the idea.
