As we recently reported, Karl Lagerfeld’s new fashion film, Reincarnation stars Pharrell Williams alongside top model, Cara Delevingne, and has finally been revealed to the world as the opener to the Métiers d’Art show in Salzburg, Austria.
Lagerfeld, who is chief talent at Chanel, has created the short film in celebration of the brand’s history, detailing a fantastical version of Coco Chanel’s real life encounter with an elevator operator at a hotel she stayed in during a trip to Austria. Said hotel operator, whose jacket is said to have inspired the infamous Chanel jacket, is played by Williams, who falls asleep and dreams he’s Franz Joseph, emperor of Austria, while Cara and her belevoed brows play the emporer’s wife, Sisi.
The soundtrack to the unusual film was written by Pharrell and includes vocals by Ms Delevingne, and is titled “CC the World” as a nod to both the brand’s double ‘c’ monicker and the name “Sisi.”
