Adidas and Kendall Jenner are receiving serious backlash by fans of the sportswear brand, some of whom are threatening to boycott the brand, after the brand named Kendal Jenner as the ambassador for the brands “Originals” campaign.
In the Ad, Kendall Jenner is seen in a clear Time capsule/Incubator wearing a white crop top, knickers and a pair of white sneakers. The reality star stares into the camera as she references her challenges and eventual rise to stardom.
“I did what I had to do. I faced it all, and I stood tall. I did it my way.”
This isn’t the first time the super model is facing massive backlash. In 2016, Kendall stared an uproar after shooting a video for Vogue, which had professional ballerinas accuse her of being disrespectful and insensitive towards the craft.
However these campaigns are nothing compared to the worldwide backlash the 21 year old model faced after her Pepsi ad was released earlier this year. The advert in which she gave a police officer a can of Pepsi as a peace offering during a heated protest. Both Kendall and Pepsi were accused as being insensitive to various political and racial protests going on all over the world, which led to Pepsi eventually pulling down the ad.
Kendall’s kid sister Kylie was also criticized for “Ableism” after she was photographed in a gold wheelchair for interview magazine in 2015. The Jenner and Kardashian sisters are not new to backlash from critics and fans as a result of various statements, photo shoots and campaigns they have been featured in.
