The Council of Fashion Designers of America, Inc. (CFDA) found Kim Kardashian worthy of the first ever recipient of the influencer award at this years award ceremony which is set to take place on the 4th of June 2018. The president of the Fashion governing body, Steven Kolb, said it was Tommy Hilfiger’s idea to create a special honor for Kim. According to Tommy Hilfiger, If you think about influencers and how they’ve changed our industry, I think we should acknowledge that,”, the board was definitely in support of Hilfiger’s idea, they all agreed that Kim was someone who has really impacted the industry and has changed the way brands are presented.
Kim Kardashian obviously has a lot of designers friends and we can say for a fact that she has had some sort on influence in the fashion industry. We do not expect everyone to agree with this, Kim Kardashian has always created a lot of controversies and most unfortunately are always tied around negative feed backs. Kim would be receiving this award alongside Donatella Versace, who would be receiving the lifetime achievement award, Virgil Abloh, Mary-Kate Oslen, Tom Ford, and Edward Enninful would receive special awards on that day. Asides from Kim Kardashian’s excitement for her award, Issa Rae is also super excited as she is set to host award show taking place at Brooklyn Museum.
Kim has broken the internet so many times, from her recently nude photos for her KKW body launch to her Kimoji Valentine’d day launch, which included a huge candy heart, which lucky celebrities were able to smash on camera before enjoying the scents inside.
