At the final day of Lagos Fashion & Design Week, the very best of style was spied everywhere, from backstage at the event to those seated along the front row and on the models that walked the runway.
And, with Team SPICE on ground to cover all of the action, we couldn’t help but share our sightings. See what we saw here, below;
Backstage
For Day 4 of LFDW, creatives flocked backstage on high energy, sorting hair, makeup and styling for the final showcases
We spied makeup extradinaire Lola Maja doing her thing on models’ faces…
…No detail was overlooked, with finishing touches added to models’ looks before hitting the ramps on the last day of the event

The Frow

The Catwalk
Bridget Awosika brought her style signatures to the last day of LFDW
…From her über-femme aesthetic, diaplayed in pinks, blue and black, to her way with draped fabric and a sense of quirky. We loved the unusually-placed cut-outs
Weizdhurm Franklin didn’t disappoint with his amazing ensembles, which included decadent dresses with the most beautiful textures
We don’t think there was a piece we wouldn’t kill for
For House of Kaya it was traditional garments with sophisticated, feminine elements worked onto hemlines
Meanwhile, Johnson Johnson put impact into menswear pieces that packed a punch
The designer at Conae Insignia sent models out in her unusual yet pretty garments, which brought a sense of whimsy to the ramp
And Rayo went for it with fairly minimal feels, using a palette of white and rust
At Belois there was also a prominence of playfulness with cutouts and frills speaking volumnes…
…Even the designer got in on the models’ fun, wearing her style signature on her sleeve with this huge puff ball dress
At T.I Nathan, there was a strong harlequin theme, with models wearing just black and red and rocking details like frilled cuffs
Loved the styling of this model in particular, whose face was barely visible under her huge ‘fro…
Sisiano brought men’s and women’s things to the ramp – all with a utility/minimal vibe with long swathes of fabric
We at SPICE loved the palette of lemon, grey, black and navy
Iamisigo sent out a sporty-come-utalitarian-come-retro-feeling range to the ramp, with striking red as the main hue
And also into red, April by Kunbi brought sexy back with her range for Spring/Summer’16…
Many dresses included a dramatic train to the back for show-stopping effect
For Nkwo, it was trad vibes and voluminous shapes – all accessorised with head wraps and chunky necklaces
At Kiki Kamanu, there was a quirky and eclectic mix up to behold
…Including the models themselves, who were intermixed with Naija’s stars (including the likes of Denrele) and children, too
…While Ade Bakare sent exquisite things in shining jewel tones and baring voluminous sleeves
And Tsemaye Binitie worked a whimsical amount of fringing in primary hues for Spring/Summer’16, with this dress being our absolute fave
And closing LFDW was Lanre Da Silva Ajayi, with her printed, sleek ensembles…
…We loved how many looks came embellished with a delicate headpiece…
…And in such clean lines that we will look forward to rocking come next season
