Following the showcase of their Spring/Summer 2015 collection at Lagos Fashion & Design Week and Glitz Africa Fashion Week 2014, the Okunoren Twins label by Lagos-based designers, Taiwo and Kehinde presents us with a ready-to-wear menswear collection carrying the ‘Conceived in Africa’ trademark – a range that both has us thirsty for the upcoming season and highlights the brand’s position as a global contender.
And, thinking about ‘tradition’ as much as we at SPICE are this month, the brand draws inspiration from South-West Nigeria, fusing Aso Oke and Etu fabrics woven using traditional Yoruba techniques, as seen on the sleeves and back panel detailing.
The label’s iconic rope design is also incorporated into embroidery features and accessories, with the entire collection created in dedication to late Nigerian fashion icon, Remi Lagos.
See the lookbook shots for Okunoren Twins’ Spring/Summer’15 collection below and tell us you aren’t just as excited as we are to wear them next season;
