In 2013, “we cant stop” was one of the most popular songs and May waited five years to actually sue Mylie who was born almost the same time he released the song. May alongside his lawyers argue that around 50% of “we cant stop” is based off “we run things”, a song that reached no.1 in Jamaica at the time of its production.

The entire lawsuit is based on a certain lyrics in Mylie Cyrus songs, the lyric reads thus “we run things, things no run we”, in a legal document released by people, May lay claims that the lyric is similar to a line in his song.
