While events may be on slow pace in Africa, the international worlds of TV and film are bringing out the best stars and in their most stylish garments, too.
From Tracee Ellis-Ross’ printed ensemble to Angelina Jolie at the Critics Choice Awards, check out our best-dressed list from last week and let us know who’s look you’ve been rating, too;
Nigerian-Scottish star, Carmen Ejogo glowed at the 2015 Critics Choice Awards last week, rocking a simple, fresh look in the prettiest of peaches. A red pout complimented her Emilia Wickstead gown, featuring oversized patch pockets, and we love the bronzed clutch she wore to round off the outfit!
Kat Graham was our Style Star of the Week last week, getting the same memo as ?? about pastels being ‘in’, and showing up for Elle Magazine‘s Women in Television even wearing a mint Azzaro look. She made a fashion statement that we just couldn’t ignore…
Rita Ora dropped her urban girl look to exude a more classy and elegant look, rocking a red number by Zac Posen. She wore a sleek ‘do and matched lips to the gown, and we appreciate how the singer kept her accessorising minimal – a complete contrast from her usual attire.
Rising singer and style icon-in-the-making, FKA Twigs was spied in a black and bold look for the 2015 Brit Awards. Also known as Tahilah Debrett Barnett, the artist stepped out in a lace-detailed coat-dress, which featured a long train seen piled around her boot-clad ankles. She finished her statement ensemble with gold, structural jewellery from Annelise Michelson and Aztec-inspired makeup that just had jaws dropped.
Common and John Legend walked away with a 2015 Critics Choice award for their song “Glory,” and for the night, handsome rapper Common was spied in a navy tux with contrasting black lapels. There’s not much else to say about this look, except “smooth“…
Also looking sleek and the same award show, nominee and Nigerian-British actor, David Oyelowo stepped out without a tie on his black suit, wearing a button-front shirt with contrasting buttons and a pair of silver cap-toe shoes. With Mr Oyelowo, it’s the details that stand out and here, we think he nailed it.
Hollywood actress Jennifer Aniston also caught our attention on the night, in a look borrowed from the boys. We at SPICE would kill to look this good in a suit and we are completely set on her red Gucci tuxedo, worn with nothing but minimal jewels underneath. #Hot.
Keeping it classy as ever, another of our Hollywood favourites, Angelina Jolie stunned in a sexy, metallic and draped Versace design. Is it us, or is Ms Jolie is getting more graceful by the day…?
Seen on the red carpet at a press tour in Pasadena, actress Tracee Ellis Ross stole our hearts in her two-toned, mixed-texture cardigan and a printed pencil skirt. Gorgeous or what?
And lastly, British-Zimbabwean actress Thandie Newton hit the carpet at NBC Universal’s 2015 Winter TCA Tour, looking very simple and chic in her tailored look. Ms Newton’s that cute though, that she’d have pulled off a paper bag and still made the list…
