Last week saw stars turn out in their very best outfits for movie premiers, award shows and events, leaving us at SPICE wishing we were there to see their ensembles up close.
See below our top ten of last week’s style, including a double wardrobe whammy from Zendaya Coleman and a family fashion moment from the Pinkett Smiths, here in our Red Carpet Roundup;
First up is 2015’s breakout star, Zendaya Coleman, who stepped out sans dreadlocks (read about the abuse her attempt at the style got here) for the Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards on Saturday March 28th.
Wearing a cute, striped ensemble comprised of DKNY’s Spring/Summer’15 pieces (seen Binx Walton in the campaign, here?), a thick, gold choker and Stuart Weitzman “Nudist” heels, we think she looked radiant and totes appropriate for the young and fun event – another standout moment in Zendaya’s style history so far.
…But this next look though? Well, Zendaya wasn’t playing, bringing her fiercely waved out hair to the red carpet for the 2015 iHeartRadio awards, which held at The Shrine Auditorium this past Sunday in LA.
Donning a Fausto Puglisi Autumn/Winter’15 minidress that bore a bright pink and green bodice swirling, printed skirt, Ms Coleman was all sorts of cool and cute.
We loved the matching pop-colour, pointed heels and the embellishment she added via these Carla Amorim and Pasquale Bruni jewels – but what do you think? Wow or what?
Also out at the event, everyone’s favourite country-come-popstar, Taylor Swift was seen on the red carpet, rocking a sparkling, cut-out LBD and a complimentary uber-coiffed bob.
The fit of the dress was perfection and we certainly respect the attempt to match her frock with the detail of her shoe.
Singer Jennifer Hudson stepped out for the carpet’s best dressed list too, wearing a flapper-girl, ’20s-inspired number and her volumous, fringed pixie crop…
…While Aussie rapper Iggy Azalea showed up in a printed pair of pants and mesh top, worn under an on-trend, sleeves jacket, proving she knows how to play with textures.
Chris Brown, whose presence paled in comparison to his ex-beau, Rihanna’s (see the unmissable outfit everyone’s talking about, here), still looked somewhat stylish in his signature low-key cool, putting a pair of white socks, trainers and jeans with a neon jacket that stepped his look up a notch.
Points were also scored for the hat and round sunnies-combo, which is a quirky look we prefer on the star.
Out on the same night but at a different event, Kerry Washington attended Variety Studio’s Actors on Actors night in LA, wearing a Giambattista Valli Pre-Fall’15 gown with lace details, polka dots and a floral print for mis-matched vibes.
Kerry never disappoints – whether heading out as herself or as her onscreen character Olivia Pope – and this print-clashed ensemble is just a little reminder of that fact.
Also clashing prints, Janelle Monae attended BET’s ‘Black Girls Rock!’ event at on Saturday March 28th in in New Jersey, New York, looking super chic in her favourite club of colours: red, white and black.
Going girly and against her signature menswear-inpired wardrobe, the star rocked a monochrome two-piece look by RVN, punctuated by a bold, red and floral coat and clutch. Love this!
Also at the event, singer Ciara stole the show in her sleek Nili Lotan black slip dress and flowing hair…
…While last but not least, Will, Jada and Willow Pinkett Smith made the night a family affair, stepping out as a stylish trio.
Though Will and Jada looked super smart – Will in a metallic, printed suit jacket and shirt, Jada in a form-fitting wiggle dress and metallic heels – daughter Willow went for an edgier look, made up of a grey suit, matching polo neck and platform heels.
But, as much as we like how Willow’s wardrobe’s developing, we can’t help but think had she ditched the socks and opted for a different lip shade, she’d have looked even better. That said, the three stars still did their thing and made our list for their stylish efforts.
