Often referred to as the Golden child of Africa, Ghana is bordered by the Ivory Coast in the west, Burkina Faso in the north, Togo in the east and the Gulf of Guinea and Atlantic Ocean in the south. Ghana means “Warrior King” in the Soninke language. the first black African country south of the Sahara to achieve independence from colonial rule, the country is also rich in natural wealth, it is no surprise the small west African country with an approximate population of 27 million people, is often referred to as the Golden child of west Africa. Like other African countries, Ghana is rich in culture, tradition, history and of course a variety of ethnic, linguistic and religious groups.

  • Labadi beach resort.

  • Kakum national park

Kakum national park is the go-to place for nature lovers. Located on the coast of southern Ghana, the park is home to endangered mammals such as forest elephants, bongo antelopes and primates like the Diana monkey. The Rainforest Canopy Walkway is one of the best features of the park. Sitting pretty at 30 meters in the air, the canopy walkway provides an amazing clear view. Also there are learned tour guides who have vast knowledge in the plants, herbs and medicinal uses some of these plants, which can be gotten from the rain forest.

  • Kwame Nkruma mausoleum

Kwame Nkruma mausoleum is located in downtown Accra.  An excellent introduction to late Ghanaian legend, Kwame Nkrumah and his importance to both Ghana and West Africa. An attractive and distinctive feature of the park is the 7 bare chested male statuettes bearing flute blowers which blow out springs of water, which is a symbolic to the Ghanaian culture.  The flute and the blowing of flute are used to welcome dignitaries.

  • Boti falls

Boti fall is a beautiful 30 meters high twin water fall, within the Boti forest reserve. An inevitable exercise with the 250 steps down to the falls is one to remember; therefore it is best advised to wear trainers. Boti falls is an serene location to witness the beauty of nature first hand. For those who are planning on visiting the fall, it is best advised to go during the raining season.
