Hard work, perseverance and persistence have never failed anyone. Think about all the successful people you know, look back at their story, not the doctored ones that make you believe they had it all together from the beginning of their career, no! Focus on the real stories that tell us how hard they had it, and how impossible some of their ideas seemed and how they were able to conquer the impossibilities and become the best at what they do, through persistence.
“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not. Nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not. Unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not. The world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.” — Calvin Coolidge ”
Our MCM this week is the talented fashion editor, celebrity stylist, influencer, publisher, and of course film producer Ifan Ifeanyi Michael. His versatility and ability to do different things and succeed in them is one of the many reasons we love and respect Ifan. He is what we call a futuristic dreamer.
After taking a bold step to relocate from Port-Harcourt to Lagos at a very tender age to be an actor, getting stranded and having his fair share of life throwing him lemons, Ifan continued to work hard, dream big and can now show the world the tasty jar of lemonades he made with the lemons from his past.
Earlier this year, Ifan debuted his first film titled Lotanna, A story of a boy who had dreams of becoming a musician, the burden of his father’s debts looming over his head, and an industry that wasn’t ready to embrace the uniqueness of his musical style. The 80’s themed movie was one of the most anticipated movies to come out this year and it has been nominated for various awards. Ifan once again proving to us that everything he lays hands on indeed turns into gold.
“Everyone can’t keep swimming in the same direction; I wanted to do something different, a classy touch of ingredients to my creativity. With Lotanna, I think I did an amazing job; I would be selfish here for bragging about the excellent result of the movie, because, of course, I had a resilient team behind me.”
When Ifan isn’t busy producing movies, publishing or styling his celebrity friends, we can’t help but appreciate the man’s bold and sometimes daring fashion style. From rocking bold colors, to pulling off a dungarees, or just pairing what some of us will consider to be fashionably impossible, but still come out looking really good.
