While we at SPICE are focused on the ‘new’ this month on the site, international singer-songwriter, Tonye Garrick, who is on a fast rise to becoming one of Nigeria’s best red carpet divas, has recently revealed a stunning new photoshoot to usher in 2015, as well as a brand new website: IAmTonye.com.
And, in our quick-fire Q&A, Tonye’s also revealing a little about her style, her resolutions for 2015 and what plans she has for herself for the year ahead.

SPICE: What does style mean to you?
Tonye: Coco Chanel said it best – “Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live and what is happening. Fashion is not just throwing a dress on, it’s how you as the individual bring that outfit to life.”
Tell us your New Year’s resolutions.
Haha! Ok so you know I had to jump on the weight loss band wagon. Going back to my size 4, o!! Also, to be more focused and consistent!
What else should we expect from Tonye in 2015?
A lot! Expect my first video and follow up videos, expect amazing style and amazing music.
What inspired the launch of your new website?
We wanted somewhere the fans could find everything and be updated daily about “TONYE.” It just makes everything more accessible.
What does music mean to you?
Music is my life, it’s my story. It’s that place I go to when I need to express myself. It’s my happy place. It’s that place I’ve dreamt of since my childhood!
