For decades the Pirelli calendar has had beautiful and talented faces in the annual issue of their limited edition magazines. Gracing each year with beautifully themed pictures, showcasing your favorite celebrities at their best, and we are pleased to announce that this year just got better.
The Calendar courtesy of its Italian Tyre company of the same name is known for its provocative pictures and celebrity muse. The next edition stairs away from this trend and it is safe say that people will still love nonetheless.
The 2018 edition of the calendar is the first all black edition of the magazine. Aimed at breaking racial stereotypes, the upcoming issue features a creatively recreated Alice in Wonderland cast, The Edition is photographed by Tim walkers and features international great minds in the fashion, music and film, the likes of Diddy as the royal beheader, Rupaul, as the queen of hearts Docki Thot, Whoopi Goldberg, lil yatchy, Lupita Nyong’o, Naomi Campbell and many more.
“There has never been a black Alice, so I wanted to push how fictional fantasy figures can be represented and explore evolving ideas of beauty.” – Tim Walker
The new Editor of British Vogue Edward Enninful, is in charge of styling this year’s edition.
“I think we are living in a fantastically exciting time, particularly when a story like that of Alice, that has held so much resonance with people and been told in a certain way for so long, can now be told compellingly in another.” – Tim Walker
Though the calendar is gifted to the Crème de la Crème of politicians, executives and other celebrities, we are still excited about this year’s concept. Some of the big names that have graced the annual calendar of Pirelli are Amy Schumer, Gigi Hadid, Serena Williams, Isabeli Fontana, Miranda Kerr, Cameron Russel, Heidi Klum, Joana Smalls, Natasha Polly and loads more.
