This month, Team SPICE are thinking all things ‘Games‘, what with Wimbledon underway and the 2016 Olympics soon to come – so it’s about right we look the trend that’s scoring style points this season: ‘Athleisure Wear’.
A unison of items meant for leisure and those meant for athletics, the look is about sports-inpired garments that you can do almost anything in; wear to work, out to dinner… to the gym, if that’s what you fancy.
And, from designer tracksuits to the highstreet bomber jackets we’ve seen everywhere this year, it’s the silky two-pieces or tracksuits that are Team SPICE’s fave – despite our lack of desire to be anywhere near a race track.
At Ashish it was colourful, sheer and embellished bomber jackets with sporty shorts and trainers.
At Chloe, matchy-matchy twinsets were highly reminiscent of our days doing P.E at school.
Sometimes though, a model was spied with the jacket thrown over a flowing gown – proof that the tracksuit needn’t be worn in full.
Gucci’s men’s Spring/Summer’16 was also into the whole ‘bomber jacket with matching pants’ thing, sending guys out in stripe-hemmed suits emblazoned with an oriental print that we could place at any Summer party.
Meanwhile, Loewe was busy bringing JLO’s infamous velour versions sported throughout her 2000s music videos; the sort you’d spy Paris Hilton rocking in the same era.
