While we at SPICE are busy celebrating all things independence, following Nigeria’s 54th year of it this month, it seems model-mogul Tyra Banks is busy flaunting hers, adding a beauty line to her list of businesses, titled Tyra Beauty.
The 40-year-old revealed all with a campaign video uploaded to Youtube this week, in which she states that the brand is about “beauty, business and bad-ass-ery,” which, coming from Tyra – who’s top model status is only toppled by her expanding businesswoman status – is a pretty accurate statement.
Appearing on Good Morning America to promote the line, the stunner explains the new range of cosmetics “has been years in the making,” and fans won’t be surprised to find out that ranges of Tyra’s mascaras, lipsticks and eyeshadows have been named “TYover,” “IT-Factory” and “Smize” – a word that’s synonymous with the supermodel since she established it in her hit show America’s Next Top Model.
The model states in the colourful, cool, call-to-arms-style campaign vid;
“Without makeup, I would have never been a supermodel. I don’t wake up with naturally sculpted cheekbones — I paint them on. I believe makeup is the great beauty equaliser [and] with groundbreaking beauty technology and innovative formulas, I’m giving you the power to transform what you’ve got … into what you want.”
But more than just being about beauty, Tyra’s out to create what she calls “a legacy brand,” which enables people to join a community akin to the well known Avon ladies, and sell her goods by “throwing fierce parties at their homes and online” in order to start “rackin’ up them bank signs!”
We at SPICE are overly excited to see how Tyra’s new venture unfolds and to get an unclose look at her new range of cosmetics, which you can already shop, here.
