The 10th edition of The Future Awards Africa took place yesterday at the prestigious Intercontinental Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos, honouring young achievers across various industries for their brilliant efforts, with Ukinebo Dare, Olamide Ayodeji and Lily Kudzro among the many to take home an award.
The event, hosted by singer and producer Dare Art-Alade and South African TV presenter Bonang Matheba, saw a total of 11 outstanding individuals rewarded for their excellent work across the continent, in the areas of science, technology, politics, business, entertainment and education.
In front of a crowd including top personalities like the Kaduna state governor, Nasir el-Rufai, Oby Ezekwesili, Mo Abudu, Tara
Fela-Durotoye and more, the following winners walked up to collect their award:
Olufunbi Falayi (Nigeria) was awarded the ‘Enterprise Support’ prize; Queen Baboloki (Botswana) took home the ‘Advocacy & Activism’ prize; Lily Kudzro (Ghana) was awarded the ‘Education’ prize; Kelvin Mutize (Zimbabwe) was given the ‘Community Action’ prize; Rasheeda Mandeeya Yehuza (Ghana) won the ‘Technology’ prize; Olamide “Badoo” Ayodeji (Nigeria) won the ‘Entertainment’ prize; David Asiamah (Ghana) was awarded the ‘Agriculture’ prize; Emmanuel N. B. Flomo (Liberia) took home the ‘Public Service’ prize; the Tony O. Elumelu prize in ‘Business’ going to Samuel Malinga (Uganda); Ukinebo Dare taking the Ford Foundation Prize for ‘Youth Employment’; and the Future Awards Africa Prize for ‘Young Person of the Year’ being won by Philip Obaji Jnr. (Nigeria).
