From Saint West of the Kardashian clan, to Tiwa Savage’s Pampers ambassador son, and the babies of Simi Esiri and Omawumi – there’s a lot of celebrity mini-mes to coo over. But, just three months into 2016 and we’ve newer tiny faces to think about, with stars being blessed with babies left, right and centre.
While we at SPICE are spending March inspired by all things ‘mother‘ and motherhood, we we’re taking a moment to recap the new additions to celeb-dom – and the women that have found themselves being called “mum” since the start of 2016.
1. Adanna Steinacker
Top blogger and ex-governor Ikedi Ohakim’s daughter, Adanna and her husband, David Steinacker, welcomed their first child just last month on February 15th.
The couple, who got married in 2014 and run the sensational YouTube lifestyle vlog “AdannaDavid” are so excited to be first-time parents, with Adanna sharing the first photo online with the caption;
“Our precious Lion King Baby ‘Kian Nnamdi’ is finally here and we’re so in love with him. The best Valentine’s present born today (15th), weighing 4.4kg of pure awesomeness.
David and I are proud parents. I prayed to God that I didn’t want to be induced and he answered me, he sent our King out when he was ready for the world.
Thank you so much for all your prayers and well wishes throughout this journey. We love you so much and God bless you.”
The cute thing though is that her twin sister, Adanma also welcomed a child just two months beforehand… Talk about major twinning!
2. Tonto Dike
Nollywood actress Tonto and her husband – known as “Mr. X”, got married in exclusive traditional ceremony in Port Harcourt in 2015, and then welcomed their baby boy just last month in February.
Opting to keep most of the details quiet, the actress was still quick to post adorable Instagram snaps, with the message;
“Today I experienced the Greatest Miracle known to man. I can’t begin to explain the joy I feel, it’s super awesome. I bless the Lord almighty for his protection/safety and strength, and the birth of my baby.
My pregnancy was such a beautiful one – stress free, lovely, spiritually great, healthy and safe. Please join me in welcoming my baby into a perfect and loving world that God, my King Kong and I will create.
I am overwhelmed and over-joyed, I am a Mother now. Wow. That’s something I never saw coming but God is indeed the master planner of our lives. His grace, love, mercy, unlimited blessings, protection, peace and so much more than I can express I have known and can testify to…
Thank you God (the father, the son and the Holy Ghost) for this blissful journey… I indeed gave birth like a Hebrew woman. #PROUDMUMMY #YUMMYMUMMY #LITTLESUNSHINEX #BABYX”
3. Tyra Banks
Former supermodel and beauty entrepreneur, Tyra banks – together with her boyfriend (a Norwegian photographer) Erik Asla, pulled of the ultimate celebrity coup – having a baby via gestational surrogate, with virtually nobody knowing!
The couple welcomed their son, York Banks Asla in January, and the 42-year-old couldn’t be more overjoyed, as it has been her “dream” to be a mother for a very long time, having struggled with fertility.
Following little York’s arrival, the super told People Magazine;
“We are so excited for our new baby boy bundle of joy. The journey to now has not been an easy process, as I’ve shared before. But there was a beautiful bright light at the end of the tunnel for me and his father, Erik.”
4. Kandi Burruss
Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss welcomed a son, Ace Wells Tucker, with husband Todd Tucker o 6th of January.
Although they have each been parents before, both having been blessed with daughters from previous relationships, this is the first child for Kandi and Todd as a couple, and before the couple and the newborn had even arrived home, they’d created an Instagram account for the baby which now has over 119,000 followers.
The bio reads;
“Enjoy seeing the world thru my eyes!”
– and while we all know mum and dad are behind the posts, we can’t help gushing over how adorable the idea is, even if it does leave Ace “posting” along with gossip culture – captioning things like;
“This is how I feel about the people talking about my mom on @theshaderoominc“
…At least no one can say baby Ace didn’t have his social media game down from day one, literally…
5. Inebharapu Paul
Known as the adopted child of former Nigerian president, Jonathan Goodluck, Inebharapu Paul and her husband, Simeon Onyemaechi welcomed their first child in January.
Their son was born at the Memorial Hospital in Miami and named Kachiside Onyemachi, which means “the way God has written it”.
The ex-president, who was super excited to be a granddad again, dropped everything he was doing in Nigeria to join the new mother and her husband in The States. We don’t blame him, because he is super adorable.
