5 Ways Our Christmas Tree is Inspiring Our Style

‘Tis the season to be jolly, since there are so many end of year parties to attend – aka excuses to stock up on stylish accessories – which leaves us looking for new outfit inspiration.

And with tomorrow marking the date that it’s socially acceptable to haul your Christmas up, Team SPICE are taking the humble Yule time fern, in all its baubles glory, as inspiration. Like, who doesn’t want to be colour coordinated and decked out to the max for parties?

Below is 5 ways we’ll be taking style inspiration from our festive friend this season – just take a look before you step out to celebrate the end of the year.

1. Take on that Tinsel Texture

We mean, nothing screams festive like tinsel does – even if it is retro Christmas vibes it’s recalling. And, with a great many accessories out there reminding us of the stuff available to buy, somebody better stop us from finding ways to wear it head to toe and spiralled around our bodies like the trees we remember growing up.

2. Buy Big Baubles

The bigger, the better when it comes to baubles at the moment, and yes – we’re talking earrings, but also Christmas-inspired bags and finishing touches.

Don a dangling, diamonte pair of earrings for a touch of elegance or go fun with a pair that look like pom poms. But there’s cute clutches and hair ties to turn heads with too…

3. Find Some Fun Santa Fur

Anyone else have a mini Santa Claus hanging from their tree at the moment? Ours is leaving us feeling to rock that faux fur trim look he’s been doing for years.

It doesn’t have to be white and it doesn’t have to stretch round every hemline like his does, but a furry detail here or there will scream ‘festive’.

4. Make Room for Metallic

Embracing Autumn/Winter’s love of metallic will make sure you look party-ready.

Favourite shades right now are gold, silver and plum shades but whichever hue you choose you’ll look the part.

5. Shimmer & Sparkle

Light up the room with your look, without the use of electrics – instead, stick on some sequins and reflect fragments of light as you move.

Yes, you’ll look like a disco ball, which is sort of the point… Christmas and New Year parties are the place to shine! Go for it with your style.
