While we celebrate Democracy Day here in Nigeria, we join the nation in celebrating the country and its foremost colour: green.
And, though nobody rocks it better than the flag itself, we’ve listed below the babes that wear it best, from Nigeria and beyond – the stars to take inspiration from this bank holiday weekend.
1. Rita Dominic
Nollywood actress, producer and all-round winner in the wardrobe game, Rita Dominic continues to kill it in green, whether she’s wearing a print or a solid shot of the hue.

We loved her printed Fabric by Sika two-piece spied in this backstage shot, and we can’t forget the Elvira Jude gown she wore to the 2016 AMVCAs. Basically, whenever Rita wear green, we match her in envy.

2. Omosexy
Nigerian actress, Omotola Jalade Ekhinde is known to nail the red carpet, and always makes her appearances memorable with her face beats and wardrobe.
And, while Omosexy does it well in almost every colour, this green look by Tiffany Amber, rocked to the Fifty premiere at the end of 2015 was a total win, even amassing almost 10k likes on Instagram. We concur it’s a clear hit, giving this 10,000 thumbs up.

3. Rihanna
You don’t have to be Nigerian to represent, so Rih in green? We’ll take it.
The Bajan babe has been seen in green so much lately that rumours are circling yet another project is going to be sprung on us, following the release of this image on her Anti album graphic artist Roy Nachum’s page – the art being similar to that of the album’s.

While we await further news we count the times Rihanna has slayed in the swatch, with looks being made up of everything from feather boas to green lips, printed gowns and leather boots.

Another of Nigeria’s brightest stars, Genevieve Nnaji is known to throw a green look out like a pro and boy does it fit her well. The beauty pulls of everything from casual looks to red carpet ones without qualms, and we become a bigger fan ever time she does so.

Top media personality Toke Makinwa makes sure green is a regular feature in her wardrobe, and is seen sporting it everywhere from her head to toe.
