All the Best Looks from the 2016 Oscars’ Red Carpet & After Party

So the 2016 Academy Oscar Awards, despite Jada’s boycott and all the controversy, went ahead as planned last night in LA, with the World’s top stars showing out in the very best labels.

And, from Leonardo DiCaprio finally winning himself an award for ‘Best Actor’, to the event’s host, comedian Chris Rock throwing shade at the #OscarsSoWhite debate in his opening monologue, what a night it was!

But of course, Team SPICE was here for the fashion that graced the red carpet and the Vanity Fair after party that followed – hence below is all the looks we absolutely loved.

Chrissy Teigen & John Legend

Showing up heavily pregnant, model Chrissy Teigen and her husband John Legend aprkled on the scene – first at the awards event and then at the after party, with our favourite look being the mother-to-be’s ruby-hued Marchesa gown.

Of course, the dashing singer Mr Legend made the perfect accessory to the ensemble as always.

Cate Blanchett

Seen on the red carpet in an Armani Privé gown, Ms Blanchett was dazzling in her Swarovski crystal-embellishment, topped with jewels by Tiffany & Co.

And the hue? To die for.

Naomi Campbell

Also in a colour that can be described as elegant, supermodel Naomi Campbell turned up to the after-party to turn heads, and has us jaw-dropped at the sight of her metallic gown’s fit.

But this is the Naomi Campbell, so we’re hardly surprised to see her lowering silver, yet going for gold.

Jennifer Lawrence

J-Law just looks good always, but we loved her lacey couture gown by Dior, seen on the Oscars’ red carpet, and how it was magnificently styled to leave her looking easy-going yet flawless, as always.

Kerry Washington

Kerry is always bang on with her style, and though this wasn’t exactly her finest moment in a gown, we do love what she did with this unusual (Viking costume-like) dress.

But for the after-party? Kerry was on top form with her all-white column dress, embellished in the middle with its plunging neckline, and she remains on the best-dressed list as usual.

Lady Gaga

Choosing a caped jumpsuit by Brandon Maxwell, Lady Gaga did the red carpet good at the Oscars, wearing an all-white ensemble and hair styled to match the outfit’s origami detailing.

The fit could have been better in the crotch region especially, but from most angles this look slayed – and was like Solange getting married levels of good.

Serena Williams

Also in all white, tennis star and legend Serena Williams stepped out looking lovely in lace.

We love how the gown she chose flatters her figure and will never turn down the chance to see more of her beautiful body.

Olivia Munn

It was alpa bout the hue with Ms Munn’s look. We mean, how fresh and fun, considering this was the Oscars – a place typically reserved for the finest finery by the most high end of designers.

We love that she stepped out looking like a zesty rebel in her bright orange dress by Stella McCartney, which fit her as good as the skin on fruit.

Tory Burch

Designer Tory Burch also pulled on an orange peel coloured dress, but upped the ante with a bit of bling around the neck.

We have to say she takes Ms Munn’s edge for the fact that this is a more fashion-forward look, and we love the flattering slim-fit sleeves and relaxed hairdo, too.

Whoopi Goldberg

What can we say about this look? It fits well, is flattering and classic, but it’s not what we love most. We simply adore the sight of one of the industry’s classics making a return to the spotlight, because our sister Whoopi is a class act that with a face we’ll never tire of seeing.

Margot Robbie

Actress Margot Robbie went for glamour in her dress by Tom Ford, giving the Oscars trophy a run for its money and looking like the real life version.

We can’t knock the glittering look, with the long-tassled clutch sealing its fate on our its of outfit favourites.

Anne Hathaway

But did you see Anne’s take on pregnancy-chic? Well, the star managed to pull of a glitzy old school Hollywood look for the after party, with this oversized and embellished gown that we would rock – sans bump and all.

Motherhood is one of the best looks out there and Ms Hathaway’s wearing it well.

Pharrell Williams &Helen Lasichanh

Wow. Gotta be a first that we see these two styled up to the nines, but then this is the Oscars.

Pharrell Williams and his wife Heen Lasichanh went super glam for the event’s red carpet (shock – no demin!), but Ms Williams made sure to bring his signature quirk with rolled up trouser legs and a pair of loafers. And we’re sort of into it.

Abraham Attah

Another star who was all about the shoe, young rising actor of Beasts of No Nation, Abraham Attah did the tux thing to perfection, rocking  a pair of Toms to the Oscars red carpet.

And we think he nailed it.

Sofia Vergara

Sofia-Vergara-Oscars-2016-Red-Carpet-Louis-Vuitton-Vogue-28Feb16-Getty_b_592x888

Another surprise in style on the night, was actress Sofia Vergara in her Marchesa gown.

No, we’re not shocked to see her looking mega watts of beautiful – we’re simply surprised to see her step away from the plunging-gown-with-fishtail look, and opting for this flowing skirt gown. Still though, her body is giving us pure #goals.

Thandie Newton

thandie-newton-vf-vogue-29feb16-getty_592x888

British actress Thandie Newton gave us chills when she brought her enviable head of curls to the after-party’s red carpet, and looked sublime as she did so.

We love the more sombre sight of her all-black gown, and think this grown up look with a twist vi those curls was a brilliant way to show up.

Rooney Mara

Rooney-Mara-Oscars-2016-Red-Carpet-Vogue-28Feb16-Getty_b_592x888

Wearing Givenchy, Rooney Mara stuck to her guns with another ghostly, ethereal look and while it’d be nice to see her do something else, we have to respect she slays her choice of red carpet uniform.

So elegant!

Charlize Theron

Charlize-Theron-Oscars-2016-Red-Carpet-Vogue-28Feb16-Getty_b_592x888

Going for bold, Charlize Theron brought the fire with a bright red Dior dress paired with Harry Winston diamonds.

We’re into the plunge and the flattering fit. But then Ms Theron rarely disappoints, does she.

Diane Kruger

diane-kruger-vf-vogue-29feb16-getty_592x888

Also bringing the heat, Diane Kruger came to slay in her red and lace number.

Skin tight yet all sorts of elegant with its pattern, sexy isn’t the word! We love this.

Kate Bosworth

kate-bosworth-vf-vogue-29feb16-getty_592x888

Last on our list though, is this subtle showstopper from Kate Bosworth – a look that really stole our hearts, oozing from head to toe.

Most notable is the hue of this gown, which is soft yet striking and super Spring-like, but we also adore the silhouette; its one-shoulder detail and the frou-frou embellishment.

And the finger waved hair and red lip? Well done Ms Bosworth – you nailed the Oscars’ after-party like a modern day Grace Kelly. Divine!
