Wonder what sort of thinking went into Amber Rose and Blac Chyna’s MTV Video Music Awards outfits? Well, turns out they’re part self-expression and part promotion of Amber’s second upcoming Slut Walk in LA next month.
The model-entreprenuer, who famously dated Kanye West and has a baby with rapper Whiz Khalifa, is holding the event against sexual violence, victim shaming, derogatory labels and gender inequality, in Los Angeles on October 3rd 2015.
The walk, according to her event’s site (here) was designed in 2011 following a talk given by a Toronto police officer, who told college women that;
“…If they wanted to avoid sexual assault, they shouldn’t dress like sluts.”
Amber and her pal Ms Chyna took to the red carpet at the VMAs this past weekend, wearing nude ensembles with words “Bithc, Slut, Whore” and “Stripped” scrawled across them, to raise awareness of their cause and event, with Ms Chyna saying;
“We’re basically wanting to just paint a picture of what people say about us already. We’re just trying to embrace it.”
Set to hold between 12pm and 5pm, the walk calls for donations and attendees to join the movement, which should make for an interesting sight next month on the streets of LA – especially if everyone is clad in the specially made garments the star is selling online here.
