“Tough in business but with a lovely lack of veneer. She is not cold, she is just a guarded person and she’s a very, very warm person, if you’re her friend.
She’s been there for me in the worst moments of my life and she’s constantly, constantly concerned about my weight.”
Talley also shed a little light on the reasons behind his departure from Vogue, who he left last year head up Russia’s new edition of Numéro.
For the upcoming episode of Oprah: Where Are They Now? which debuts tonight on Oprah’s channel OWN at 9 p.m. Talley is seen in a preview clip for the show, saying:
“I loved my life at Vogue – Vogue is the ultimate place if you’re working in fashion, at a fashion magazine.
There have been very few people of colour who have risen as far as I have in the industry. I felt I had gone to what is called the glass ceiling there and nothing else was gonna happen. I went to Anna Wintour and told her quite frankly, I need to think about my future.”
We’d suggest you set a reminder to tune in for what will be a compelling tell-all from a complete fashion icon.
