Beauty Trend: The Polarising Pixie Cut

It does seem like last year was the ‘Year of the Pixie,’ with so many celebrities seen chopping locks and rocking the hairstyle. But, with this being a trend known to divide opinion down the middle, it’s a tricky one to take on – and most of last year’s short-haired stars have already gone back to sporting long tresses.

For those who’ve still chosen to wear their hair cropped like Miley Cyrus, we’re sure you were giving yourselves a pat on the back when you saw the trend to take to the international limelight, after Oscar de la Renta lead his girls down the runway with Pixie cuts for his Autumn/Winter’14 show.

But be warned: As much as we love how cool this style looks and the fact that it has a low maintenance touch to it, it takes a certain je ne sais quoi to pull off… Before jumping in scissors first, why not dip your toe and see if you’ve got what it takes? And don’t worry, we’re not suggesting you go and DIY a pixie cut at home – we’re actually talking wigs.

Here are some styles we adore from Wigs.com where there are wigs in every shade and length to suit your every style need – the perfect way to experiment and get involved (even if it is temporarily) with the trend.
