Beauty Trend to Try: Heavy Metals

Precious metals suit all but they needn’t be expensive. In fact, fall runways were full of models dripping in bronze, silver and gold, and we reckon you ought to flash yours, too!

But we’re not talking diamonds and jewels, we’re talking your eyelids, which were heavy on the metal side for next season. For example:

There were bronze lips at Rodarte…

Silver shadow at Donna Karen…

…and glittery eyelids at Altuzarra.

There were also some designers going the extra gold mile, glossing models’ foreheads with gold dust, but luckily, that’s a trend that’s stayed on the runways for now (phew)!

And it’s not just models – there are a few celebrities who have quickly embraced next season’s trend , like;

Ciara, who rocked gold on her lids for a red carpet appearance – a look that ruled at the Badgley Mischka Fall’14 show…

…and country queen Taylor Swift has been seen with a swish of silver on her eyes, which was the look at the Donna Karen.

To join the celebs, get ahead of the curve and rock next season’s trend now, we’d recommend Bobbi Brown’s Metallic long wear cream eyeshadow, ($25).

Simply tap your finger into the product and then onto your eyelids (we recommend using the pads of the fingers as they warm up the product quickly, enabling it to blend into the skin better). Next, use a dense fluffy brush to finish up the look by blending the colour out to the edges. Et voila – you’ve eyes that are worth gold dust!
