As though there was even a choice about it, top model Jourdan Dunn is this week’s Beauty Spot of the Week, having decided to dye her hair an unusual grey-blue colour to attend this weekend’s Coachella festival in California.
‘Rejuvenating’ her look and ditching her cropped bobbed ‘do (see more on that trend here), the British beauty debuted her cool hair online via Instagram, captioning;
The stunner was seen arriving with her new look at LAX on Thursday, pairing her hair with said shoes and a big pair of shades.
Want to steal the model’s cool, blue-hued hair, but without fully committing with dye? Choose a hair chalk by Hair Artist (just £4, here) and work the look temporarily. See our how-to, below;
Get the Look
1. First, prep your hair by wetting it (unless your hair is blonde or bleached, in which case you will need to leave hair dry). Do not use any other product, like a wax or an oil – this will only work on clean hair.
2. Make sure you’re wearing protective gloves and clothing so you don’t leave colour stains where they’re unwanted. Then, apply the chalk to the hair by twisting a small group of strands, colouring directly onto the twist in a downwards motion.
3. Let your hair dry, though you might want to leave enough time before your event to air dry it, so that the chalk is not ‘blown off’ by using a hairdryer.
4. Lastly, seal the colour into your locks with hairstraigtheners or a curling iron. The colour will stay put (though slightly faded) after one shampoo, but after washing a further time, your hue will disappear.
Do not the colour may transfer onto bedsheets at night, and if you want t to remove the colour fast, use a shampoo with a clarifying shampoo.
