Giving us further reason to be celebrating this month at SPICE, beautiful model Jourdan Dunn and the superwoman that is Naomi Campbell are seen starring in in Burberry’s Spring/Summer’15 campaign – becoming the first black female duo to front one of the British brand’s campaigns.
Shot by legendary photographer, Mario Testino, the ad nods to Burberry’s recent fragrance campaign for “My Burberry,” which starred another hot model duo, Kate Moss and Cara Delevingne.
In these new ads, Dunn and Campbell are clad in Burberry’s beautiful versions of the classic trench coat, which have been re-imagined in colourful suede, with the head designer, Christopher Bailey, saying of the pair;
“Naomi and Jourdan – two great British icons, two strong, beautiful women and the two perfect faces for our new campaign.
It is, as always, a real privilege to work with them.”
Jourdan has previously starred alongside black male model Sacha M’Baye for Burberry’s Spring/Summer’11 campaign, but this is the first time a pair of black female models have been chosen as the faces of the brand.
This new feat also marks Dunn’s fourth time as a Burberry campaign star and Ms Campbell’s second spell as Burberry’s face, having starred alongside Kate Moss in the brand’s 2001 campaign.
Naomi explained;
“I admire what Christopher and the entire Burberry family are doing so it’s great to be back working with the brand again.
We’ve all witnessed the evolution of this great British brand and it is a privilege to be a part of its continuing progress within the world of fashion… And I was thrilled to work with Jourdan Dunn for the first time – it was a lot of fun.”
We at SPICE are in love with the resulting ad and campaign film, which also stars New Puritans drummer George Barnett and Of Empires drummer George Le Page.
