Following the designer’s runway showcase at Vogue Italia‘s Vogue Talent event in Milan and Lagos Fashion and Design Week showcase last year, Lanre DaSilva Ajayi‘s back with a Spring/Summer’15 “Rock Delight” collection, which has been spied in a new campaign – one refreshing our appetite for her designs in good timing as Team SPICE is thinking all things ‘Rejuvenation” this month.
With the lineup of beautiful florals and vivid, earthy prints clad onto gorgeous gowns that we need for replenishing our new season wardrobe, there’s a lot to love about the collection, with the designer explaining its inspiration came from;
“…The famous Olumo Rock, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Nigeria that sits in the ancient city center of Abeokuta – a name which means ‘under the rock’ – which is the largest city and capital of Ogun state in Southwest Nigeria.”
“The collection features sharp silhouettes, strict forms and minimal cuts using fabrics such as 100% silk, lace, traditional wax, and velvet. The colours featured are red, green, pink, orange, purple and yellow.”
The campaign was lensed by Silvia Dee, and modelled by The Purves twins and Majorie Prempeh who stand draped in the garments against the archways of an elegant interior.
