Top designer and – dare we say – social media star, Olivier Rousteing has been caught twerking in a the new campaign video for his Balmain x H&M collection – or at least we think he was, in this just-released behind-the-scenes video.
The new video sees It-girl Kendall Jenner as the muse, with dancers doing all sorts of cool stuff while clad in glittering, glamourous things from the soon-to-drop collection, and it seems Mr Rousteing has more than a cameo in the campaign vid, too.
Telling Yahoo Style about the underground setting of video, the designer said;
“The metro has a sci-fi feeling to bring forward this idea of techno couture. It’s really modern and young.
When I see this collection, I think you can party, you can go to a gala, you’re going out and taking a sci-fi metro. It’s like a dream. Everything comes from a dream and a ride.
Pop culture and Michael Jackson was also on my mind. Like the idea of the metro in the Michael Jackson “Bad” video…
This metro-silverish modern techno vibe. It’s also about having all of the girls and boys together. The Balmain x H&M army. They are the squad and the new generation of top models.”
The talent also says he learnt a few moves for the video, saying;
“I learned twerking and vogueing, it was such fun. I love dancing. I love music.
Music is a big part of my life. My vision is mixing music with fashion.”
The video was revealed ahead of both brands’ huge shopping party taking place today in New York City, which you can view via H&M’s Periscope (find out how, here).
