Award-winning on-air personality, Titilayo Oyinsan is joining us in thinking all things ‘Movement’ here at SPICE, by leading a host of celebrities together with the StayInSchool Nigeria Initiative, to launch new fundraising campaign “#IAmDynamite project.”
The campaign seeks to improve young girls’ rights to education and has taken the celebrity world by storm, racking up support from several Nigerian stars like Alibaba, Omawumi, Dr SID, Fela Durotoye, Gbenga Adeyinka, Kaffy, Uche Nnaji, Mochedda, Omotola Ekeinde and many more who have signed up to back the project.
“#iAmDynamite” is an online and in-person campaign created for Titi Oyinsan as she celebrates her 30th birthday, which will host the top names involved and endorsing the project, whose overall goal being to raise funds to send 30 young girls between the ages of 5 and 12 to school.
Ran in collaboration with the StayInSchool Nigeria Initiative, founded by Tricia Ikponmwonba, all involved hope to decrease the number of out-of-school children in Nigeria – specifically those of primary school age – by providing scholarship opportunities for orphans and vulnerable children. The StayInSchool Nigeria Initiative currently supports 325 children across 10 primary schools in Lagos and Abuja, with this new project hoping to add a further 30 to the list.
The “#iAmDynamite” campaign also aims to inspire young and aspiring women by providing a platform to aid critical thinking of girls and by sharing the stories of out of school children – revealing why they are not currently in education and how their story will be turned around with the help of the campaign.
With one girl’s education costing an average of N30,000 per year, the #iAmDynamite campaign aims to raise N900,000 for 30 girls’ first year at school – and, offering you the chance to get involved, the team ask that you pick up one of the campaign’s cards from the following outlets:
· Ouch store Admiralty way; Lekki Phase One.
· BRUNOS Unisex Salon; Ikeja City Mall.
· Melting Moments Ice cream café; Ikeja City Mall
· Inspiration Fm, Amazing Grace plaza; Ligali Ayorinde Street, Victoria Island.
When 10 cards are sold (at N3, 000 each), one girl child has an opportunity to education for a whole year.
We at SPICE suggest you seek them out or visit the StayInSchool website here to get behind girls’ education and join Titilayo Oyinsan’s “#IAmDynamite” campaign.
