So the 2016 Cannes festival is still underway, with all celebrities showing up in their best styles for film premieres and press junkettes – but from Kendall Jenner to Chanel Iman, it seems one look is dominating that red carpet, and destroying all other dresses in its path.
The silhouette stealing the limelight right now is the slinky, thigh split gown, which goes well up the leg if you’re doing it right, like these stars below. Take a look and tell us who you think did it best.
Model and philantrophist, Liya arrived at the 69th annual Cannes Festival, wearing a shimmering green gown by Haider Ackermann.
The beauty completed the look with an elegant updo, and left her makeup minimal to allow that dress to scream – her toned leg popped and presenting all the fashion feeling needed.
Model Bella went for true glamourous vibes with her silky, barely-covering, train-having dress by Alexander Vautier.
This thigh split was so high up that anyone stood to her side saw more than just her leg, but it’s undeniable that the girl looked good, with her triple-strap heels and sophisticated updo.
Another model, Chanel Iman was seen in a cut-and-paste style gown, and putting her best leg forward.
Stepping out for the Hands of Stone screening, the barley-there heels were a complete match to the dress which was worn to serve her lithe figure.
Wearing Versace, the modelling Kardashian sister stood out in her printed, wrapped number, with her teeny tiny thighs wrapped in a black lace underskirt.
We like the simple strappy shoes it’s been paired with and how the colours bring an exotic side out of the brunette.
Pregnant Blake showed the mums-to-be how it’s done, not letting her growing middle stop her from swathing up in a sequinned, sky blue figure-hugging number with that oh-so-popular thigh split.
Also in skinny, strappy heels and showing an extra slither of skin via a cutout above her breast, Blake takes points here for daring to bare and for opting for this unusually-hued Versace dress.
But what are your thoughts? Tell us who you think nailed the trend, and who won the ongoing battle of the thighs at 2016’s Cannes Festival.
