Describing the thinking behind its signature swatches, high end fashion house Chanel has released a new artistic film about the background to its favourite hues: black, white, gold, beige and red.
As part of its Inside Chanel series available to watch via Youtube, The Colors of Chanel includes anecdotal references of each shade in the brand’s repertoire, including quotes from Mademoiselle Chanel herself that explain just why they as so significant.
For example, a narrator divulges;
“Black, because it accentuates the essential… Because for Gabrielle Chanel, it reveals a woman’s radiance.
White, because in the beginning there was white… Because it reminds Coco of the communion dress she was given by her father.”
The interestingly-shot short film is smutch-watch for anyone wondering about the brand’s emblematic colour palette – created with all the class and chic you’d expect.
