Christopher Bailey is set to exist Burbery in march 2018. After transforming the fashion label into what is now for 17 years and also being replaced as Burberry chief executive earlier this year, he finally takes a bow.
In a statement released on Thursday, Bailey said “It has been a truly inspiring place to work and the decision to leave was not an easy one, I do truly believe, however, that Burberry’s best days are still ahead of her and that the company will go from strength to strength with the strategy we have developed and the exceptional talent we have in place.”
Although is departure has already been announced, Bailey would still remain in his post as president and chief creative officer of the brand and also still design the Spring/Summer 2018 until March 31, 2018.
Bailey would not just be departing the brand but he would be giving up a total of 830,550 shares, valued at 16 million pounds ($21 million), which is part of his compensation packages between 2014 and 2017. At the moment new designers are being interviewed to fill in Baileys position, and Phobe Philo who is about to exist from Celine might be possible replacement.
