#CurvesdayThursday: A Curve-Ready Swimsuit Special

As we remain celebrating a month of all things Summer here at SPICE, of course holidays haven’t been far from our thoughts and – while the search for the perfect swimsuit can be a nightmare, we’ve found a few things to inspire you, below. Enjoy!

Curve vs… Swimwear

Whether you’re in Lagos or London, Johannesburg or Jamaica, Harare or Hawaii we all have one thing in mind during the Summer months: swimwear, and how to look good in it.  Well, previously a ‘touchy’ topic for women with curves, swimwear shopping need not be a nightmare, as we at SPICE are banning unglamorous one-pieces with virtually no support, and with them, we’re ditching sarong wraps that usually come near-permanently attached to the hips.

Yes, with the evolution of the plus size market, we’re enjoying curve-loving suits that use the ‘s’ in swimwear to declare sultry, stunning and showoff-worthy styles as seen from designers like MonifC, Rue 107 and ModCloth who use colour, daring cuts and cleverly-placed panelling to present creative and flattering swimwear.

For our edit, we’ve chosen trending colours of aqua and chartreuse, alongside your classic black, to showcase the many great choices currently available for fuller-figured beauties. Our favourite though, has to be the MonifC two piece; a supportive halterneck with comfortable high-waisted bottoms that allow you to breathe easy whilst taking that well deserved beach break.

Lounging around the pool just because you look amazing? We’ll swim to that!

Nakimuli Launches New Swimwear Lookbook

Asthough they just knew we’d be talking curvaceous swimwear this week, one of our favourite brands, Nakimuli has launched a sizzling new lookbook for its range of plus size swimsuits – one that’s got us at SPICE in a bit of a sweat.

Shot and directed by Itaysha Jordan and modelled by Halle Dean and the brand’s designer, Tennille McMillan, the lookbook sees two gorgeous bodies rocking printed onsies and croptop two pieces, with hair bound and wrapped in patterned towels – or twisted into multicoloured braids and peeking from Summery hats.

See if you don’t find it scorching, below, then shop the range (our favourite being the “Point Guard” swim set) here;

Whether it’s on the beach or at a spa, popping from relaxation to lunch requires a tactful bit of covering up, which this H&M maxi dress provides perfectly and in extra servings of style.

Made with the dual purpose of keeping you cool and keeping your look glamorous, with beaded embroidery along the plunging front and a drawstring waist to show off your figure, this thing of beauty (did we mention, it has a thigh high slit on one side?) is just made for hot, hot climates – those that come via nature and those that you plan to cause all by yourself.

You can purchase yours (£29.99), here.
