#CurvesdayThursday: Curve-Loving Things to Celebrate in, Plus Liris Crosse for SLiNK Mag’s First Print!

Curves vs… Party Dressing

We’re now into our 2nd week of ‘celebration’ here at SPICE and with Soundcity’s Blast party, Music Meets Runway, Christmas and New Year’s Eve to look forward to, we’re focusing in on the wardrobe for those upcoming parties.

Last week, we brought you what to wear for daytime holiday dressing, and this week our edit of curve-complimenting clothes under £100 takes a stop at party central, with a dress code that reads ‘black tie.’

Coast are renowned for their stunning evening dresses and this vibrant blue maxi gown is one begging to be worn. With its regal high neck, lace bodice and tie waist to working well to highlight a curvy figure, our advice is to snap this item up in the sale to be crowned the belle of the ball.

Simply pair it with great accessories – we’ve gone for eye-catching, printed strappy sandals, which are a steal at £15 – and you’ll be well on your way to being name on one of our best-dressed lists…

Curvy News: Liris Crosse Stars in SLiNK Magazine’s 1st Print Edition

SLiNK Magazine have gone into print! Yes, the UK now has its very first plus size magazine, thanks SLiNK, who have run a successful online mag for 3 years.

Placing all its curvy goodness in 15 countries worldwide, including the UK, Rivkie Baum who is SLiNK’s editor in chief, spoke to The Independent newspaper saying;

“As the plus-size retail sector continues to outgrow its straight size counterpart, the market is crying out for an inspirational plus-sized publication…

We never photoshop bodies smaller at all, we will do lighting corrections, light balance that kind of thing. We are extremely conscious of our responsibility to promote a healthy body image both physically and mentally.”

With shopping features, interviews and editorial features as well as travel, beauty, eating and fitness tips, we love that SLiNK Magazine have furthered the bridge for curvy women to express themselves to a wider audience. And, sweetening the news, the first issue stars plus size model Liris Crosse, who features in a fashion spread that takes on the classic Wizard of Oz story.

“using her powers to illuminate mosaic light onto the world of Oz. She believes freedom, liberalism and unity is absolute peace. Therefore, Dorothy declares a new beginning, and new hope”

We at SPICE join SLiNK’s followers in celebrating the new beginning for the platform. See Liris’ shots below and you’ll see just why the news is so special;
