Nigerian Artists and Designers are thinking more outside the box and making the unexpected happen. With a lot of ongoing foreign collaborations, we are more than trilled that one has been born from a Lagos fashion designer week Young Designer alumni and LVMH Award finalist, Mens wear designer Orange Culture alongside one of Africa’s biggest Music act, Davido. This collaboration was ushered in by a campaign by Selfridges, “Music Matters at Selfridges”.
Selfridges is a chain of high end department stores located in the United Kingdom, this store has been in existence since the 1990’s and its also known for it’s architectural buildings located in different parts of UK.The term “the customer is always right” can be linked to the founder of Selfridges, Harry Gordon Selfridge. The fashion collaboration was inspired by Davidos Hit song”IF”(you know that jam right?), it features a range of clothes similar to that worn by Davido during the music shot. The debut of this collection took place at London on the 12th of September 2017. This is a huge achievement for Davido and Orange Culture. This collaboration was proudly supported by the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC)While we await more fashion collaborations, see full pictures below.
