Photographed by Ruven Afanador, Robyn ‘Rihanna’ Fenty shocks the world yet again – this time though, by covering up for the July/August’14 edition of Harper’s Bazaar Arabia.
Wearing garments that are appropriate for the Middle-Eastern audience of the mag, inspired haute couture clothing, Ri wears decadent head pieces, veils and floor length gowns – in one look even drawing inspiration from West African Muslim traditions and donning an intricately beaded Gele together with a beaded sweater – and explained;
“I wanted to do something high fashion, but still something traditional to their culture.”
The cover story, titled “Rihanna of Arabia – The New Modesty: How to Cover Up In Style”, has her tattoos fitting in well and remains to prove that the controversial singer has mastered the art of nudity as well as covering up.
