Fast-rising pop star, Tinashe Kachingwe, who’s known simply as “Tinashe” and celebrated for her hit song “2 On,” is featured in Interview Magazine‘s “15 Faces of 2015” – a list of stars who are expected to have their best year yet, next year – alongside newcomer model, Aya Jones.
Since beginning her professional singing career at age 16, LA-based Zimbabwean, Tinashe tells Interview about how she struggled to get along with her peers, saying;
“Once I stopped focusing on people my age that were in school and I started hanging out with people in the industry, like producers, engineers, songwriters, that’s when I was really like, ‘Okay, there’s a life after college and all this other stuff everyone’s focused on.”
Aya Jones, whose father is from Ivory Coast, explains the one wish for her modelling career, which has so far seen her walk for the likes of Prada, Nina Ricci, Miu Miu and Valentino, would be;
“…To have a cosmetics campaign and to work with Chanel, Dior, and Louis Vuitton.”
Photographed in black and white by Astrid Sterner, Tinashe’s chiselled cheekbones and toned body come to the fore as she’s styled by Laura Jones into urban, sporty pieces and sleek silhouettes. For new face Aya, it’s a noir portrait and street shot by Shawn Brackbill.
