Singer-Songwriter Erykah Badu fronts as the face of the new Givenchy campaign, it was revealed in an exclusive interview for Style.com.
The neo-soul songstress was chosen by Riccardo Tisci to model his Spring/Summer 2014 collection, shot by infamous fashion photographers Mert and Marcus.“Erykah, she’s an icon – come on! She’s one of the most stylish women I’ve met in my life,” he said. “She’s got such a good sense of proportion, of colours.”
In a move set to shock the fashion world, the campaign also features models of colour Maria Borges, newcomer Riley and Asia Chow, who all posed in Givenchy’s African and Japenese-influenced collection.
Simply draped in a beautiful architectural poncho, the legendry Badu definitely flaunts her effortless, unconventional hand yet again – but this time combined with Tisci’s continued efforts to turn fashion traditions on their head.
