Ezinne Chinkata Announces New Competition for Aspiring Designers to Dress Dakore Akande

Stylist, store owner and blogger, Ezinne Chinkata of Zinkata has just announced the start of a new competition for designers – the Zinkata Red Carpet Challenge – which will provide the opportunity for one winner to dress actress Dakore Akande for the 2015 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards.

Entrants are asked to submit their proposed design for Ms Akande in sketch format by February 11th, from which a selection of finalists will be chosen. All entrants will receive feedback on their work, “a chance to see how their concept is received and gain constructive feedback,” though the finalists will also receive mentorship by industry experts, the opportunity to work with BM Pro to create a make-up look that compliments their creation, opportunity to work with Flow Fabrics to select fabrics for their piece and  a feature on the Zinkata website.

For the winner, things get even better, with the opportunity to create a capsule collection for sale at the Zinkata store, the promise of a feature in Mania Magazine, and 3 months free business establishment, operations and development advisory from  creative business consultancy, Ten Stitches.

The competition comes from Ezinne’s Zinkata Design Series – an initiative which aims to provide emerging talents with another platform to showcase their work – and is an exciting opportunity for any young creative to be a part of.
