As we get ready for fun this weekend, Moët & Chandon bring their global, annual event – the ‘Moët Party Day’ – to Nigeria for the first time, hitting Lagos this Saturday, 11th of June 2016.

The event will see an ‘All-White party’, including brunch, held at the Hard Rock Café Lagos, where a privileged few will also be treated to a private dinner and select Moet Vintage Champagnes.  A ‘Moet Nectar Night’ will then take place at Escape Nightclub, Lagos from 11pm till dawn, with a theme of ‘pink and glamour’, which is open to all.

The date, June 11th marks the moment the celebratory champagne spray was born, with American driver Dan Gurney won he 24-hour Le Mans race in France, in 1967. When handed a Jeroboam bottle of Moët & Chandon on the podium, he sprayed champagne over the crowd, sparking a tradition of soaking spectators in the bubbly stuff when celebrating.

Brand manager of Champagnes at Moet Hennessy Nigeria, Emmanuelle Baroux said of this weekend’s event;

“The ‘Moet Party Day’ is another opportunity to celebrate and enjoy our exclusive range of champagnes around the world. On that day, we want Moët & Chandon to be at the heart of every celebration and for every celebration to be filled with special #moetmoments.”
