While Team SPICE is still thinking about the ‘new’ here on the site this month, and while we’re still deep into Men’s Fashion Week, news of designer Jeremy Scott‘s new scent is pretty well-timed, with “Adidas Originals by Jeremy Scott” becoming this week’s Friday Find.
The talent, who recently revealed his first perfume as creative director at Moschino and who has maintained a collaboration with Adidas for years, has created a new unisex fragrance for the sportswear brand’s Adidas Originals line, which is sure to draw plenty of attention.
As the first scent from Adidas Originals, it has been developed in collaboration with beauty company Coty as well as top perfumers Philippe Roques and Maurice Roucel who are said to have brewed rose and Calabrian bergamot together white pepper, incense and cashmere, to create a fragrance that plays with both feminine and masculine notes.
Scott told WWD;
“A lot of my design is very non-gender specific. So, in a way, it ended up reflecting what I do in fashion.
I got the go-ahead and started working on the fragrance and trying to create something unique that I felt was from me, which is such a difficult thing, because my talents lie in the visual and not in the olfactory.
It’s been a real process and journey.”
True to the designer’s visual talent, the fragrance looks as good as it smells, too, set inside a clear crystal bottle, shaped in the form of both the designer’s popular “Wings 2.0” high top sneakers and his “Mercury” sandals – and there’s even matching shoebox-inspired packaging to marvel at.
If that’s not enough to behold, Scott also stars in the ad campaign, shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.
The new scent, available as a 75ml Eau de Toilette, will retail at 95 Euros and being a limited edition item with only 10,000 bottles made in total, we suggest you go get Jeremy Scott’s new Adidas Originals scent as soon as it drops on shelves next month, on 1st of February 2015.
