Father’s Day 2016 came and went, holding yesterday on June 19th. And, while handmade cards might be a thing of the past, the stars made sure to share their sweetest sentiments with their parents, online – via Instagram of course.
Here are some of what our favourite celebrities shared with their dads or the men their kids call “daddy” this Father’s Day.
The Kokomaster, D’banj showed out on Instagram, posting a portrait of his dad along with the touching caption;
“Happy Fathers day to the Best Dad in the world and the Original Kokomaster. I thank you so much for Bringing me into this world and for Raising me up in the right and best way. Giving me the knowledge needed to succeed in this my wonderful journey of life.
I love you dad. OooSssHhhEee”
Model and new Mother Chrissy Teigen went into Father’s Day overdrive this Sunday, dedicating a very sweet post of her baby Luna, to her husband John Legend as well as his dad, writing;
“Happy Father’s Day to the most perfect man Luna and I could ever ask for.
[…] It makes me so happy to see so much of you in her smile and eyes that completely glow when looking at you. She will never look at anyone – anyone – the way she looks at you.

The model also posted a cute throwback pic of her parents, honouring her own dad with a “Happy Father’s Day” message that included;
“Let’s face it okay, I am awesome and it is because of you. I am so happy to be able to take care of you (and peps thai) the same way you took care of me.
I love you, Ronald Leroy Teigen!”
The (very stylish) First Lady of the United States of America celebrated the President, Barack Obama with this family shot, writing a simple;
“Happy Father’s Day.”
The presidential gang were seen at Yosemite National Park, and from the look of the scenery, enjoyed a great family day out hiking in the sun.
Creative director of Toju Foyeh, Toluwaloju Olowofoyeku posted a picture of her dad to Instagram, captioning;
“Happy Father’s Day Papa! My number 1 man

Supermodel Naomi Campbell chose to honour her friends and icons this Father’s Day, by posting pics of herself with producer Quincy Jones, Island Records founder Chris Blackwell and designer Tunisian designer Azzedine Alaïa, writing the caption for each one as;
For singer Banky W, it was a family portrait including his dad, and the simple caption;
“The Wellington Men #happyfathersday“
Singer, creative director and curator Solange wrote on her Instagram, alongside a throwback pic of herself and her parents;
“Happy Fathers Day…
So grateful for mine, and everything I learned from him.”
Designer Lisa Folawiyo posted a family shot to her stylish Instagram, wishing her husband a Happy Father’s Day (and proving that her daughter’s picked up on her fashion genes) with the caption;
“You lead and we follow! Love you baby.. Happy Father’s Day!!! #bestdadaward“
Sharing this makeup-free pic of herself and her husband, producer Swizz Beatz, Alicia Keys wrote;

Media personality and blogger, Toke Makinwa sent this sweet message to her late father, alongside his picture, writing;

Famed daughter of music legend Lionel Ritchie, Nicole took to her Instagram to post a pic of her son, husband and her dad, writing;
“To my favourite men in the world.”
Genny shared a meme on her Instagram page, telling of the way she feels about her dad. She also captained the post;
“Happy Father’s Day to all good and supportive fathers out there. We love you”
Posting a funny meme to her Instagram page, Ghanaian star Juliet Ibrahim captioned;
“Happy Father’s Day lmao”
And lastly, we spied Kim Kardashian’s double posting – first sharing a throwback picture of herself and her late father, with the caption;
“Happy Father’s Day dad! You were the best dad in the world! The last conversation I had with you I told you that I was so lucky to have had the best example of what a dad should be and one day I will have kids and pass on everything you taught me. I’m so lucky to have had you as my dad. I love you.”
Kim followed up with a second shot of Kanye and their children North and Saint West, writing alongside it;
“Happy Fathers Day babe! Thank you for always putting our family first and being the best dad to our babies! I couldn’t ask for a better husband and more perfect family. We love you so much!”
