Eritrean model Grace Mahary puts her acting abilities (and Jamaican accent) to the test, starring in the stunning new fashion film for Kenzo, Dawn in Luxor, styled by Mobolaji Dawodu and Annabelle Baldero Lacunaby, art directed by Partel Oliva and shot and written by Kahlil Joseph.
Revealed by the brand last week, this tense new short, starring Grace’s beauty and the brand’s Spring/Summer’14 collection, seemingly nods to Kenzo’s creative directors’ (Humberto Leon and Carol Lim’s) stance against marine pollution and over-fishing, with the pair recently announcing the brand’s partnership with the Blue Marine Foundation and creating a “No Fish No Nothing” capsule collection for the cause. In the film, you’ll note how the ocean and indeed fish play a part…
Other standout moments from Dawn in Luxor include a body-contouring dancer shimmying his way onto set in head to toe sequins, plus Grace stood watching passersby in one of Kenzo’s cool, printed twinsets.
