This weekend, new Nigerian brand Ethnik are inviting you to their official launch party at Araba’s Cafe in Lagos.
Scheduled for this Sunday, 29th of May, the party will include food and drinks, and an up close look at Ethnik’s range of goods, with the brand boasting a blend of vintage Nigerian fabrics and contemporary urban cloth created to highlight traditional culture.
Founded by multi-dimensional artist Tunde Owolabi, the party will run alongside a popup showcase, revealing the “Oriki” collection which pays homage to Yoruba praise poetry, and the “Our Scarified” range inspired by the practice of scarification.
Owolabi explains of Ethnik’s handmade designs;
“The colourful Aso-Oke pieces are designed by me and are hand-loomed by traditional weavers. My vision is to create a modern ethnic-inspired brand that appeals to fashion lovers across generations.
I want people to feel like they are wearing a work of art; a collector’s item.”
The party promises a fun, casual mid-day event that you won’t want to miss – especially if you’re in the market for Summer-ready pieces steeped in Nigerian tradition.
Head to Araba’s Cafe (located at 14c, Karimun Kotun Street, VI, Lagos) for 2pm and don’t forget to bring your purse and pick up something new while at Ethnik’s official launch party.
